What does an
accepted result cost?
Change the assumptions. Keep the arithmetic visible. No vendor prices are built in.
The starting values are hypothetical. Review time includes all attempts for each requested task. No inputs are sent to a server.
Cost per accepted result
Use the formula below if JavaScript is unavailable.
The calculation
Machine cost = tasks × attempts per task × cost per attempt.
Review cost = tasks × review minutes ÷ 60 × hourly cost.
Total = machine cost + review cost + fixed overhead.
Accepted results = tasks × acceptance rate ÷ 100.
Cost per accepted result = total ÷ accepted results.
Average attempts must be at least one. A zero acceptance rate has no finite cost per accepted result. Costs already included in the attempt price should not be counted again. This estimate excludes unentered costs and the consequences of errors.
